Round 2 Picks/Analysis

Awesome Round 1... enough upsets to keep it interesting and a ton a great games. The first four games of the tournament were decided by a total of 10 points with 3 overtimes... wow!

Midwest:
Kansas over Northern Iowa... usually it's good to pick against kU win they haven't been challenged for 3 or 4 games. Unfortunately for the Panthers, you never pick against kU when they've just lost or almost lost a game they should have won easily.
Michigan State over Maryland... even with all their distractions and troubles, the Spartans looked motivated and held on. Maryland will struggle with their strength.
Tennessee over Ohio... two people had Ohio and Murray State, I hope they didn't have the Bobcats in the Sweet Sixteen.
Ohio State over Georgia Tech... the Ramblin' Wreck was impressive, unfortunately the Buckeyes looked in top form.

West:
Gonzaga over Syracuse... well, I would have taken the Orange over FSU because the Seminoles are still looking up offense in the dictionary (or having some else do it for them, or is that the football team?). The Zags should shoot the Orange out of the gym, and without their center, Syracuse will try to force it too much.
Butler over Murray State... when I picked the Racers I thought they'd win by much more than 1 point, and the Bulldogs are too well coached.
Pittsburgh over Xavier... the X-men struggled to get it going against a good defense, and the Panthers' defense is much better than Minnesota's.
BYU over Kansas State... time for a wake-up call Wildcats. Jimmer Fredette is going to get to the free throw line about 60 times today, just watch.

East:
Kentucky over Wake Forest... the Wildcats looked TOO good... as in look out everyone else.
Cornell over Wisconsin... if the Ivy brains can score on Temple's defense, they can score on Wisconsin's defense.
Washington over New Mexico... the Pac-10 is no longer being laughed at after they went 2-0 versus the "best" conference, the Big East.
West Virginia over Missouri... I can't do it. We looked good yesterday, but not good enough. It will be close, but we need to hit more than 5 threes to win this one.

South:
Duke over California... what happened to Louisville's defense? Expect more from Coach K.
Texas A&M over Purdue... had Utah State pulled off the upset, I'd have Purdue. I think the Aggies are too much for Purdue without Hummell, especially the way they shot the ball yesterday.
Baylor over Old Dominion... the best game of day 3. These guys match up well and if ODU watched how SHSU defended the Bears, they have a shot. Unfortunately, Baylor may be too quick for ODU.
St. Mary's over Villanova... honestly, the Wildcats should have been voted off the island. Robert Morris out played them and deserved to win that game. My hat is off to the Colonials.

Round 1: 25-7 (better than Obama)
